News for the week starting 26th July 2010:

• one for the diary - Colin will be doing a recce of the 10k route and part of the 10 mile route on Tuesday 27th July.

June 2010

• Write up on the league race from Darren on the league page.
• well done to all the Ilkeston runners that turned out on Tuesday evening (15th June) for the Booth Decorators summer league race at Shipley Park. A big thank you as well to all the marshals we had that made the race run smoothly and once again demonstrated that Ilkeston RC are good at this race-hosting lark! Well done Simon Davis for the selfless work and committment to making the race a success.

• one for the diary - Colin will be doing a recce of part of the 10 mile social race route (see below for details) on Tuesday 20th July. He'll also be doing all the 10k route (and the remainder of the 10 mile route) on 27th July.
• write up from Darren - 2010 Derbyshire fell-running champion!
• Colin & Jackie are organising some club social runs on Saturday 21st August: Details, 10 mile details and route map. 10km details and route map. 6 mile out and back details and route map. See Colin (email) or Jackie Ward for more details.
• Double or quit entries have started to arrive. If you want to put flyers out at a race you are attending see Richard Bower. It's vital that we get these out over the next couple of months.

May 2010 and older

• congratulations to to Dave Litchfield & Jonathan Pitts on completing the London Marathon. London Marathon write up here.
• high peak marathon write up here - Darren has been pushing the limits of human endurance ....... again! Entertaining and scary at the same time.
• folk have requested another VO2 max testing session so this will be scheduled soon - probably on the bypass or the track (maybe a session on both).
