IRC 2nd Summer Handicap May 2024
The second handicap was a bumper turnout with 31 runners in attendance. The club was joined by trialist Liam who, amongst some competition spurred himself onto beating his predicted time by 4 minutes.
A fantastic PB from Mel Hagarty, as well as a quickest time since 2019 from Eddie Buda took up the podium spots. PBs aplenty with Sam Waddingham breaking both the sub-20 and sub-19 barriers all in one evening!
There were PBs also from Dan Follon, Jamie Greener, Rich Myers, Ben Hurdis, Andy Aiston & Ryan Ball, all taking advantage of the competitive setting along the Nutbrook Trail.
We hope even more club members join us for June's handicap, on the 18th.
IRC 1st Summer Handicap April 2024
The first handicap of the summer season commenced in April, with three first timers to the race taking the three podium spots. Well done to Sam, Heather & Ben!
The handicap levels the playing field and serves as a great competition across the board. Despite various starting times the entire field finished within just over three minutes of each other.
Congrats also to Tania & Nathan on their successful debuts as handicap race managers. Special mention to Dave Feely, who race the handicap after a number of successful years managing the handicap previously.
