Welfare and Safeguarding
At Ilkeston Running Club, we want everyone to have a safe, positive and enjoyable experience, whether you are a new member, a long-standing member, a junior, a parent, a volunteer or part of the wider club community.
Our Welfare Officers are Richard Tillson, Lead Welfare Officer for adult and junior members, and Yulia Ravenhill, Welfare Officer for adult members.
We are here for any member who wants to talk in confidence about something connected to the club. That could be a concern about safety,
behaviour, conduct or wellbeing. It could be something that has affected your enjoyment of the club or made you feel uncomfortable. It could simply be something you would like us to be aware of, even if you do not want to make a formal complaint or report. It could equally be a positive suggestion about something that helps people feel welcome, supported
and included. Please do not hesitate to get in touch because something feels “too minor.” If it matters to you, it matters. Everyone deserves to feel heard, respected and taken seriously. While safeguarding is a responsibility shared by the whole club and committee, the Welfare Officers provide a dedicated and confidential point of contact for members who need advice, support or someone to listen.
We can help with concerns at an early stage, support members with lower- level issues, and help to make sure more serious matters are handled appropriately.
